TERMS & CONDITIONS

BONI HAIR EXTENSIONS - CLIENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: 19 August 2026:

These Terms & Conditions are designed to ensure that every client understands what to expect when booking, wearing and maintaining hair extensions with Boni Hair Extensions. By booking an appointment and/or paying a booking fee, you agree to the Terms & Conditions below.

1. Consultations & Suitability

A consultation is required before a new hair extension fitting. During your consultation, we will discuss your desired result, assess your natural hair and scalp, recommend an appropriate method and amount of hair, and carry out a colour match.

Hair extensions are not suitable for everyone. I reserve the right to decline or postpone a fitting if I believe extensions may compromise the health or integrity of your natural hair or scalp.

Please tell me before your fitting about any known scalp conditions, significant or unusual hair loss, recent chemical treatments or other concerns that may affect the suitability of hair extensions.

The health and integrity of your natural hair will always take priority over fitting or maintaining hair extensions.

2. Colour Matching

Hair is colour matched as closely as possible to your natural hair at the time of consultation. As extension hair and natural hair can reflect light differently, an exact colour match cannot always be guaranteed. In some cases, more than one shade may be blended to achieve the most natural result.

If you colour, tone, lighten or otherwise alter your natural hair after your consultation, please let me know before your fitting, as the hair ordered may no longer be a suitable match.

3. Booking Fees & Ordering Hair

A booking fee is required to secure your initial fitting appointment and allow your extension hair to be ordered. Your appointment is not confirmed until the requested booking fee has been received. Once extension hair has been specifically ordered for you, costs relating to that hair may be non-refundable where the hair cannot reasonably be returned or reused, subject to your statutory consumer rights.

Please do not make changes to your hair colour between your consultation and fitting without discussing this with me first.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Please provide at least 72 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 72 hours' notice may result in the booking fee being retained and a new booking fee being required before another appointment can be booked. If you do not attend your appointment, your booking fee will be retained and a new booking fee will be required before rebooking.

Repeated cancellations or missed appointments may require full or partial payment in advance for future appointments.

I understand that genuine emergencies can happen and individual circumstances may be considered at my discretion.

5. Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are more than 5 minutes late, I cannot guarantee that your full service can be completed.

Hair extension appointments require sufficient time to be carried out safely and to the standard I expect. Depending on the length of the delay, your service may need to be shortened, altered or rescheduled. If there is no longer enough time to safely complete your service, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation and a new booking fee may be required to rebook.

6. Preparing for Your Appointment

Unless advised otherwise, please arrive with your hair clean, completely dry and free from heavy oils, root sprays, dry shampoo or styling products. Failure to follow the preparation instructions may affect the fitting or require additional preparation time. If significant additional preparation is required and there is insufficient appointment time available, the service may need to be altered or rescheduled.

7. Aftercare

Correct aftercare is essential to protect both your natural hair and your extensions. You will be provided with aftercare guidance. By proceeding with your fitting, you agree to follow the recommended aftercare, including appropriate washing, brushing, drying, sleeping and product use.

Damage, matting, excessive shedding, slippage or deterioration caused by incorrect aftercare, unsuitable products, excessive heat, colouring, swimming, failure to brush correctly or failure to attend maintenance appointments within the recommended timeframe is not considered a fitting fault.

8. Maintenance Appointments, Late Refits & Additional Charges

Hair extensions require regular professional maintenance. Your recommended maintenance schedule will depend on your natural hair, growth rate and extension method. For most Boni Hair Extensions clients, this will be approximately every 6–8 weeks.

You are responsible for booking and attending your maintenance appointments within your individually recommended timeframe. If your refit is more than 2 weeks beyond your recommended refitting timeframe, an additional £15 per week will be added to the cost of your service. This reflects the additional appointment time and work normally required when extensions have been left significantly beyond their recommended maintenance period. Leaving extensions in longer than recommended can increase the risk of matting, tangling, excessive regrowth and unnecessary tension on your natural hair.

If your natural hair or extensions have become matted due to poor aftercare or an overdue refit, additional detangling/dematting will be charged at £30 per 30 minutes.

In cases of severe matting, it may not be safe or appropriate to refit your extensions. Removal may be recommended instead, followed by a period without extensions if necessary to allow your natural hair to recover.

The health and integrity of your natural hair will always take priority over completing a refit.

9. Natural Hair Shedding

It is completely normal to naturally shed approximately 50–100 hairs per day, although this can vary from person to person and at different times of the year. Without hair extensions, these naturally shed hairs would normally be found in your hairbrush, shower or bath, on your clothes, bedding and around your home. When wearing hair extensions, most of these naturally shed hairs cannot fall away because they remain held within the extension lock or bond.

At your 6–8 week refitting appointment, the locks or bonds are removed and these naturally shed hairs can then be gently combed away. Because several weeks of normal shedding are being released at once, the amount of hair you see during your refit can sometimes look concerning. This is normal and does not in itself mean that your extensions have caused hair loss. I will monitor your natural hair at each refit. If the amount of shedding appears greater than I would normally expect for you, we will discuss possible contributing factors and the best way forward.

In some cases, I may recommend temporarily removing your extensions to allow your natural hair time to strengthen and recover before extensions are fitted again. The health and integrity of your natural hair will always come first.

10. Extension Hair Lifespan & Supplier Guarantee

The professional extension hair used by Boni Hair Extensions has an approximate 9-month expected lifespan when the correct aftercare is followed, subject to the hair supplier's own guarantee terms and assessment. The actual lifespan of extension hair can vary between clients. Factors including home care, washing frequency, heat styling, water quality, lifestyle, colouring, chemical treatments and products used can all affect its condition and longevity.

Normal wear and deterioration over time are not considered manufacturing faults. Where there is a genuine manufacturing issue with the extension hair, this will typically become noticeable within the first few weeks of wear. If you notice an unusual change in the condition, texture or behaviour of your extension hair, please contact me as soon as possible rather than waiting until your next maintenance appointment.

I will inspect the hair and, where appropriate, raise the issue with the supplier. The supplier may require the hair to be returned for assessment before determining whether a manufacturing fault is present. Any supplier guarantee is subject to correct aftercare and the supplier's own terms and assessment process. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

11. Colouring, Cutting & Altering Extension Hair

Colouring, toning, lightening or chemically treating extension hair can alter its colour, condition and lifespan. Please discuss any proposed colour or chemical changes with me before applying products to your extensions.

If your extensions are cut, coloured, chemically treated, removed, refitted or otherwise altered by another stylist or third party, Boni Hair Extensions cannot accept responsibility for the work carried out by that person or for problems arising as a result of those alterations.

Hair that has been coloured or chemically treated will also no longer be covered by the supplier's guarantee.

12. Concerns After Your Fitting

Your comfort and satisfaction are important to me. If you experience unusual discomfort, excessive slipping, visible attachments or another concern following your fitting, please contact me as soon as possible rather than waiting until your next maintenance appointment.

New fitting clients are offered a complimentary 2-week follow-up appointment so that I can check the extensions, make any appropriate adjustments and answer any aftercare questions.

Where a concern relates to the fitting or application, I will assess it and, where appropriate, correct it.

13. Refunds & Complaints

Due to the personalised nature of hair extension services, refunds are not automatically available simply because a client changes their mind after the service has been completed. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

If you believe there is a problem with your service or extension hair, please contact me promptly and allow me a reasonable opportunity to inspect the hair and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.

Please do not remove the extensions yourself or have another stylist alter or remove them before giving me the opportunity to assess your concern, unless removal is necessary for your health or safety.

14. Removal

Professional removal is strongly recommended. Boni Hair Extensions cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by extensions being removed at home or by another person using an unsuitable removal technique.

15. Results & Expectations

Every head of hair is different. Photographs shown on my website, social media or promotional materials are examples of previous clients and cannot guarantee an identical result. Your final result will depend on factors including your natural hair density, length, condition, colour and the amount of extension hair that can safely be fitted.

My priority will always be achieving the best possible result without compromising the health of your natural hair.

16. Photography & Marketing Consent

Before-and-after photographs are only taken with your permission for marketing purposes. These photographs may be used across Boni Hair Extensions' marketing channels, including social media, Google Business Profile, email marketing, the Boni Hair Extensions website and printed or digital promotional materials.

By agreeing to have before-and-after photographs taken, you consent to those photographs being used by Boni Hair Extensions for these marketing purposes.

You are completely free to decline photographs, and doing so will not affect the service you receive.

17. Children & Guests

Boni Hair Extensions operates from a small, private 1:1 studio, and hair extension appointments can last several hours. Unfortunately, there is no suitable additional seating or waiting space for children, friends, partners or other guests. I therefore kindly ask that you attend your appointment alone, unless this has been agreed with me in advance.

Your appointment time is reserved entirely for you. I want you to be able to relax, enjoy the experience and have some uninterrupted time for yourself while I give your hair my full attention.

If you need to bring someone with you due to accessibility, medical or other support needs, please contact me beforehand so that suitable arrangements can be discussed.

18. Refit Booking Fees

A £50 booking fee is required to secure each refitting appointment. The booking fee can be paid at the time of booking and must be received no later than 2 weeks before your appointment. You will receive an email and/or SMS requesting payment. If the booking fee has not been received within the required timeframe, your appointment may be cancelled and the appointment time offered to another client.

If an appointment is cancelled, rescheduled or missed, the booking fee may be retained in accordance with the cancellation terms above, and a new booking fee may be required to secure another appointment.

The £50 booking fee is deducted from the remaining cost of your refitting service when you attend your appointment. This booking fee does not apply to clients on a Boni Hair Extensions Membership Plan. Membership clients are subject to the separate Membership Terms & Conditions.

19. Payment

Any booking fee paid will be deducted from the total cost of your service. Unless otherwise agreed in advance, the remaining balance is due in full on the day of your appointment.

20. Right to Refuse, Postpone or Discontinue a Service

I reserve the right to refuse, postpone or discontinue a service where I believe proceeding would be unsafe, unsuitable for your natural hair or scalp, or could compromise the health and integrity of your natural hair. I also reserve the right to refuse service in cases of abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour.

21. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any rights you have under UK consumer law. By booking an appointment and/or paying your booking fee, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

22. Changes to These Terms & Conditions

Boni Hair Extensions reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to services, pricing, policies or business practices. The most current version of these Terms & Conditions will always be available on the Boni Hair Extensions website. Where a change materially affects an existing booking, appointment or client obligation, reasonable notice of the change will be provided where appropriate. The Terms & Conditions in effect at the time of your booking will normally apply to that booking, unless otherwise agreed.
